We were approached by our client, to produce a simple, but effective e-commerce site to enable them to increase sales by appealing to the online market. As there products have fairly small margins, they were looking to decrease their overheads whilst increasing sales. Not an easy objective to achieve, but an e-commerce website is definitely a step in the right direction. The site sells a range of over twenty products and is fully incorporated with a third party payment gateway, which passes on much of the security responsibilities associated with online sales.
The site was built using PHP with a MySQL backend database and custom shopping cart.
